MALLACOOTA FLATHEAD CHALLENGE RESULTS

2022

The ANGER MANAGEMENT boys have done it.

This was the one they wanted and with it, have become the first team to take out the win in all 3 challenges. These boys sure know how to fish and whats more they did it with the biggest score we have ever seen.

2021

Becoming the first team of just 2 anglers to win any Flathead Challenge THE SEA WASPS reigned supreme in 2021.

Local Bowan (Bowman) Joiner and Dylan Nicholls were in second place after Day 1 behind the back to back champs, the Smashed Crabs but the boys put in a cracking Sunday that included an 89cm fish to take out the title with a whopping 1314 pts

2019

They have done it again!!! The SMASHED CRABS go back to back in what was an epic weekend.

Dan Brady, Mitch King, Alex Burford and Richard Somerton topped off a great weekend with a 81cm fish from Dan that rocketed them to the top in the last couple of hours on the clock

Definitely the boys to beat.

2018

THE SMASHED CRABS had been frothin’ to take out this event for a few years. After going 3rd and 4th in the past 2 years Dan Brady, Mitch King, Alex Burford and John Carter finally done it in 2018.

2017

Local knowledge got the job done in 2017 in an event that now regularly sees over 250 anglers converge on the amazing inlet of Mallacoota.

The guys from COOTA TIME with Peter Hancock, Josh Hancock and Dennis Brownlie broke all records with a massive score of 1284 pts to run away with the title and a huge swag of prizes

2016

The Medics from the South Coast made up of Glen Moffit, Matt Gould, Glen Martin and Graham Gibson and known as TEAM G went outside the square and whilst most teams were casting plastics, the boys were using Hardbodies and whilst they didn’t pin a big fish, they ended up with a bag of solid fish in the 50s and 60cm range to take out the event.

2015

Entering its 3rd year, Mallacoota was host to over 150 anglers. 

James Currie took out biggest fish of the weekend and together with his team mates Adam Mehmet, James McCarthy and Keiran Baker the LIZARD TAMERS took out the major prize.

2014

2014 saw the Mallacoota Flathead Challenge grow to over 100 anglers and 37 teams.

Joseph Douglas, Lee Theidman and Shaun Carrick formed the DUSKY BUSTERS and the rest in history. The boys had a great weekends fishing that included Lee “Buzz” Theidman landing a 97.5cm rocketed them to the top of the leaderboard after Day 2.

2013

The Reel It In Flathead Challenge was established in 2013 and in its first year saw 55 anglers and 21 teams head to Mallacoota.

John Didge, Paul Mayer and Adam Van der Lugt from TEAM JIGMAN took out the honours that weekend with a score of 1123 pts.
